Our mission is a world without digital barriers.

Our Mission

Austin Free-Net is a community-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in 1995. We provide public access to the internet and digital literacy training for all Austin residents with an emphasis on our most underserved community members.

"For many, the Internet has become the way they get to touch computers for the first time. They want or need e-mail to keep in touch with friends and family, to do some kind of research or because they desperately want to improve their job skills but don’t know where to take affordable classes introducing them to computers’ existing and emerging technologies. ...When people see our logo, they will recognize that it is a place where they can access the Internet in a friendly environment."

- Ana Sisnett, Co-Founder of Austin Free-Net, Writer, Author and Community Activist, 2001
