Our programs are designed to provide opportunities for all
Our Programs
New technology promises an opportunity for all, but only on an equal playing field, with equal access to information, education and involvement in the community. Anyone that has the desire should have access to technology, including broadband connections, and assistance to learn. With this in mind, Austin Free-Net exists to make equal access to computing resources and training a reality.

ACCELERATE Workforce Development Program
The program is designed to provide computer skills training that will lead to permanent employment opportunities for adult recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or those at risk of becoming TANF recipients. The class is also open to those who would like to “restart their career” in the fast-growing tech industry.

Digital Literacy Program
Digital Literacy is what we are about at Austin Free-Net. Our programs are every growing to meet our clients needs, as well as the fast pace in which technology advances. Our goal is to provide all members of our community with free computer and internet access as well as free digital literacy training. We serve all, but specialize in assisting our most underserved community members, including those experiencing homeless, individuals transitioning from incarceration, senior citizen, low-income families, and immigrants new to Austin.

Specialty Training Programs
Austin Free-Net offers training programs that are focused on client goals, with curriculum set accordingly. Programs are customized for each partner and tailored to meet the goals that they have for their clients. For example, we have provided training classes to parents in the Austin Independent School District about how to use the School Portal.
