Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer at our weekly computer clinics: Austin Free-Net offers free open-door computer clinics (schedules vary per site) and we are always looking for volunteers to join us for a session, a month, or more! A pleasant demeanor and basic computers skills are all that are needed to help adults learn how to use computers, search the Internet, type a document, and/or set up an e-mail account.
For New Volunteers:
- Step 1 – read this article (pdf) and try this mouse exercise
- Step 2 – read: Clinic Do’s! (pdf)
- Step 3 – Fill out our Volunteer Application
We provide information for our AFN volunteers by email, phone and in person. You can start volunteering immediately with as little as 15 minutes of quick training which we provide at the beginning of the computer clinics. We also offer additional training for fundraising and special events and offer training to those who want additional skills to teach computer classes.
For more information on any of our volunteer positions, please email volunteering (at) austinfree.net or call (512) 236-8225 x30.
